About our tree trimming & pruning service

Bad pruning ruins more trees in Gauteng than disease does. Hat-racking and stub cuts cause regrowth that's weaker, denser and more likely to fail in the next storm. We prune to ISA standards: target cuts at the branch collar, no more than 25% live crown removed at a time.

Whether you need a jacaranda thinned before storm season, a pin oak shaped over a driveway, or a plane tree reduced off your gutters, we quote per tree with a written scope.

Our process

How we approach every job

  1. 1

    Walk-around with you

We mark each tree, agree height/spread targets and any specific branches to remove.

  2. 2

    Climb and cut

Climbed on ropes (no spikes on live trees) — every cut at a fork or branch collar.

  3. 3

    Crown balance

We step back, check sightlines and balance, refine where needed.

  4. 4

    Clean-up

All trimmings chipped and removed; you keep the chips if useful.

FAQ

Tree Trimming & Pruning — common questions

When should I prune?

Most species: late winter (June–August) before spring flush. Avoid heavy pruning in mid-summer.

How much can be removed?

Best practice: ≤25% live canopy per year. We'll never agree to a 'hat-rack' job — it's bad for the tree and a bigger storm risk later.

Will you top my tree?

No. Topping is not pruning. We do crown reduction at proper laterals, which gives you a lower tree without the structural damage.
